About Watt iQ
Built so ordinary households get the most from an extraordinary purchase
A home battery is one of the biggest things a family buys. We think it should be run with the same care, every five minutes of every day.
Why now
Australia is adding home batteries faster than any market in the world. The federal rebate cuts roughly 30 percent off an installed battery, and its budget has grown from A$2.3 billion to an estimated A$7.2 billion. Since May 2026 the rebate tapers for systems above 14 kWh, so new buyers are more careful and want proof of the return.
Almost all of those batteries run on the setting they left the factory with. They ignore prices, weather and the way the household actually lives. That is the gap Watt iQ fills.
How we work
Watt iQ is self-funded and grows from what customers pay us. There are no outside investors to please, so our only job is to make your battery worth more to you, and to show it plainly each month.
We trade through Localvolts, an authorised retailer in the ACT, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Tasmania that passes through five minute wholesale and neighbour-to-neighbour prices. Localvolts runs the market and provides an open connection. Watt iQ provides the battery control that was missing.
Where we are
We are running a friends-and-family beta with a small group of homes. Once that is done, Watt iQ opens to a wider customer base. Subscriptions are expected to start from A$25 a month, with final pricing confirmed before launch.
What is next
- Balancing batteries across three-phase homes, so the battery works for the whole house.
- Smart charging for electric cars, inside the same five minute plan.
- Other markets with live prices, once Australian households are well served.
Ready to let your battery do the thinking?
Join the beta list and we will let you know when a place opens. From A$25 a month once we launch, and you keep full control of your backup.
